Chef/Cook
(Full-time Sunday to Thursday)
Interested in a full-time hospitality role where you are free to enjoy Friday and Saturday at home and /or engage in social or community interests? Then we have the role for you at Trackside Bistro, part of the Stawell Harness Racing Club.
We are looking for a motivated chef or cook to work under the guidance of our Head Chef to deliver fresh, authentic and imaginative food in a relaxed and stylish foodie and dining destination venue for families, clubs and friendship groups in the Grampians region.
You will bring a hands-on approach to the role and be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a highly functioning hospitality team.
Evening work is required , 8 hours x 4 days and 6 hours x 1 day. Above award rates apply. You will:
- be focused on quality and consistent results
- take instruction, as well as direct and coordinate daily and nightly kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
- follow and promote Food Hygiene and Workplace Safety
- be involved in purchasing , ordering and stock management
- deliver fresh, authentic and imaginative food to members and customers
- work closely with the Head Chef on menu design and specials recommendations
Required skills and attributes:
- be passionate , energetic, committed, reliable , motivated with good communication skills
- experience in delivering quality and consistent meals from a broad and eclectic menu
- problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment
- desire to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our members and customers that includes quality ingredients with great presentation.
Salary and Benefits
An attractive salary package will be offered commensurate with experience. Employment will be under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020
